Folk music lost much of the nation's attention during the Depression and World War II, but a generation of young urban liberals revived it in the late 1940s and '50s at open-mics in New York's Greenwich Village basements and singalongs in Washington Square Park. I believe the real differences in these two songs are due to the artists’ singing styles and the type of songs. The multiplatinum rapper was hospitalized in Los Angeles on Friday and reps confirmed he was "recovering."

Huff launched Philadelphia International Records as a direct rival to “Hitsville: USA” – and succeeded, writing and producing over 170 gold and platinum records to date. A jazz ensemble usually plays a predetermined tune, with each musician adding their own interpretations. Much like their kin in the established prog sub-genres, these groups will incorporate many major parts of what defines prog rock: the fusing of rock with the structures and discipline of more traditional musics, the use of syntheisizers and new technologies, intelligent thematics, and the expansion of the form.

Swing bands appropriated the "new" style with Will Bradley's Beat Me Daddy Eight To The Bar and bandleader Tommy Dorsey's Boogie Woogie. Smith (decked in white) entered the stage merrily and delighted us with 3 more of his composed tunes, 'A Man's Gotta Do What A Man's Gotta Do' 'Tripple Nickels' and a beautiful rendition of 'Glisten'. As social changes in the 1950s and 1960s occurred, the blues changed.
